The wife had the crab cake with fingerling potatoes with smoked bacon I can tell you the potatoes were fabulous and tasted even better the crab cake was just ok why put parsley in them? The flavors were intense and delicious. I personally love their scallop and shrimp dishes, and look forward to the off-season when they will likely bring back some of their heartier cold weather offerings like pasta. Was hoping for some nicely grilled fresh French or Italian bread but it didn't matter because the hostess came by and asked how we were doing and brought out more of the focaccia so that we could use that to soak up all of our delicious sauces. That did not seem to be case this time. The bartender was a delight. She seated us quickly, told us about the restaurant and chatted with us for a few minutes - great personal service! Just Hooked is one of our favorite places to dine in Fenwick.
The only thing saving this place from getting one star is that they have a somewhat decent wine list. For entrees, our table got the halibut special, cioppino, and salmon. The cioppino was also fantastic and the broth was to die for. The place was crowded but we didn't have to wait. Our bartender Danyle was really great! The whole fish Black Sea Bass was okay, not great. Our server only had three tables if she can't handle it she needs a new job. I will tell you the fish tacos I ordered and they were awesome lots of flavor fish was cooked perfect and the peco was nice and crunchy and good. The sea scallops are divided in half then fried, cooked to perfection 4. My entrée was the cioppino. The Cesar salad had no dressing, the lettuce was shredded couldn't tell if it was iceberg or Romain but we did notice it was also on the fish tacos, we counted 2 shaved Parmesan cheese pieces, and splashed with bagged croutons. My better half had the blackened swordfish special.
We did return four days later and had the Thursday fish and chips special and a whole fish. Friendly staff and host as well. A supposedly crispy basil leaf was not crispy at all. My wife had her water glass sitting on the edge of the table and our waitress looked rite at the cup and walked rite past it. To top it off, it was doused in so much salt that I could actually scrape it off with my knife. We were all taken aback with his reaction. My entrée was the cioppino.
For dessert we tried the chocolate chip cookie sandwiches. The waiter told us that bread isn't served until dinner even though we were given the dinner menu. It was creamy, lots of crab, good flavor and fresh. The calamari also looked fantastic. The service here is always top-notch, and I love the updated dining room. The crostini served with it was basically a dried out, slightly over baked and too brown tasting piece of French bread. The fish was so over fried that the inside was dry and the outside was soggy, which I didn't know could happen. It had smoked paprika for the rub and was on a bed of chickpeas, tomatoes and Italian sausage. You can also search near a city, place, or address instead.
Their pan seared scallops with Vermont cheddar grits are some of the tastiest scallops I've had in years! Which consisted of a Cesar salad, spaghetti squash salad, fish tacos, and blackened fish sandwich. This place was super cute inside. We got the baked oysters and calamari apps - both very tasty and prepared well. It was very tasty especially with a little salt sprinkled on it. Everyone walked away very happy with our entrees and sides. Our graduates typically attend graduate programs in social work, counseling, psychology, public administration, and education.
Both entrees were delicious, big portions, fresh fish perfectly prepared. The adult menu consisted of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and entrees. We will be back to eat here again. Very friendly and outgoing staff. California State University, Fullerton, is not responsible or liable for the accuracy or the content of linked pages.
If you're still having trouble, check out. If you are super hungry there are several tasty appetizers to choose from, of which the Boom Boom Shrimp is one of our favorites. They did not offer lemon with it so we used the lemon slice in our water to add some acidity. The service here is always top-notch, and I love the updated dining room. The scallops entree was to die for.
Started with the best warm crab dip I've had in years accompanied by pretzel bread for dipping but don't fill up on that bc the best is yet to come. My better half had the blackened swordfish special.
